Retailers worldwide have seen a decade of unprecedented change with many large US low-price market leaders such as Wal-Mart, Sams, Price Costco and Payless ShoeSource having built their financial success on logistical prowess.To survive and grow in these competitive markets, it is no longer enough to buy the right goods at the right costs. Retailers must be able to get them to the right place at the right time and with the right operational costs. In order to do this well, it requires the best possible logistics. Most planning tools available on the market assume perfect conditions and plan routes based on distances and time taken by drivers to get to their different destinations. Should there be a problem that makes it impossible for the driver to reach a destination (due to e.g. traffic congestion or an accident along a particular route), available tools are not able to re-adjust and provide new plans. TSD's new Predic-T product matches existing planning tools with other vehicle tracking and fleet management technology to re-plan and to update useful information for clients. It is an exception-based managerial software decision support, active and predictive logistics route manager that provides continuous real-time performance measurement against projected scheduling.
